Teresa’s Poppy Seed Bread

Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons poppy seed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons butter flavoring
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond flavoring
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients and mix for at least 2 minutes. Pour into greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour, maybe a little longer.
  • Glaze: Pour over bread while hot and still in pans. Let cool for 20 minutes. Remove from pans and refrigerate.

Notes

Makes 28 muffins. Bake 16-18 minutes at 350.
