Pasta with Sausage & Peppers

Ingredients

penne pasta
cooked

lb.
Italian sausage
mild
1/2
medium red onion
chopped
1/2
medium red bell pepper
sliced 1/4" thick
1/2
medium green bell pepper
sliced 1/4" thick
1
tablespoon
olive oil
2
large garlic cloves
minced
1/2
cup
chicken broth
1/4
teaspoon
red pepper flakes
1/4
teaspoon
black pepper
1/4
cup
fresh basil
optional, chopped
1/4
cup
Parmesan cheese
shredded
Instructions
Cook pasta and set aside.
Cook sausage over medium-high heat until done and drain. You may crumble
or slice the sausage.
Saute onion and bell peppers in hot olive oil. Add garlic and saute.
Stir in sausage, cooked pasta, broth, red pepper flakes and black pepper.
Reduce heat to low and cook stirring for about 5 minutes.
Transfer to pasta dish or plates and top with chopped basil and Parmesan
cheese.
Notes
NOTES : I added 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced, with sausage.
