Fig Preserve Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • pinch salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup fig preserves with juice
  • 1 cup pecans chopped

Instructions

  • Cream sugar and oil together. Beat in eggs.
  • Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk. Add preserves and nuts last.
  • Bake in greased tube pan at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until done.
  • After removing cake from pan, brush fig juice all over the cake.
