The day you receive 1 cup of starter your friend will advise you which day of the instructions to begin.
Note: DO NOT USE METAL BOWL OR SPOON - DO NOT REFRIGERATE.
DAY 1 - Do nothing. DAY 2 - Mush the bag. DAY 3 - Mush the bag. DAY 4 - Mush the bag. DAY 5 - Mush the bag. DAY 6 - Add to the bag 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, & 1 cup milk. DAY 7 - Mush the bag. DAY 8 - Mush the bag. DAY 9 - Mush the bag. DAY 10 - Add 1 1/2 cup flour, 1 1/2 cup sugar, & 1 1/2 cup milk and make the Amish Friendship Bread.
First pour off three 1 cup starters. Save one for yourself and give the other to 2 friends.
You can substitute any amount (and up to the full cup) of oil with applesauce.
Whole wheat flour may be substituted for plain flour (all or half and half).
Add 1/2 to 1 cup of dried fruit (Craisins, raisins, dates, apricots, etc.), coconut, or chopped nuts.
