Vanilla Cake

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 cup Shortening
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 4 eggs 3 whole plus 1 egg white
- 2 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Boiling Water
Instructions
- Mix together the buttermilk, baking soda. Set aside.
- Combine the shortening, sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix well.
- Sift together the all purpose flour, baking powder and salt. Combine all ingredients together and mix well.
- Add boiling water to mixture, combine and pour into greased pan.
- Frost with Quick and Almost Buttercream Icing
