Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 2 sticks margarine softened
- 1/2 cup Crisco
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Cream margarine and Crisco with sugar. Add eggs one at a time beating after each. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk. Add vanilla.
- Bake in a greased and floured tube pan with bottom lined with a double layer of waxed paper for 1 hour 45 minutes at 325 degrees. Cool in pan for 20 minutes before turning out on a rack to cool.
- CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE: Add 1/2 cup cocoa
