Pasta with Sausage & Peppers

Ingredients
- 16 ounces penne pasta cooked
- 1 lb. Italian sausage mild
- 1/2 medium red onion chopped
- 1/2 medium red bell pepper sliced 1/4" thick
- 1/2 medium green bell pepper sliced 1/4" thick
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 large garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh basil optional, chopped
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese shredded
Instructions
- Cook pasta and set aside.
- Cook sausage over medium-high heat until done and drain. You may crumble
- or slice the sausage.
- Saute onion and bell peppers in hot olive oil. Add garlic and saute.
- Stir in sausage, cooked pasta, broth, red pepper flakes and black pepper.
- Reduce heat to low and cook stirring for about 5 minutes.
- Transfer to pasta dish or plates and top with chopped basil and Parmesan
- cheese.
Notes
NOTES : I added 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced, with sausage.
