Key Lime Cake
Servings: 16
Ingredients
- 1 Lemon Supreme Cake Mix
- 1 small lime jello
- 5 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups canola oil
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- Frosting
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons key lime juice
- 1 box confectioner's sugar
Instructions
- Mix all cake ingredients well. Bake in 3 round prepared cake pans at 325
- degrees for 30 minutes. Cool and freeze layers before icing. Freezing
- will make the icing easy and save time in the long run.
- To make frosting, bring butter and cream cheese to room temperature. I
- leave out over night or at least 6 hours. Do not put in microwave. Blend
- cheese, butter and lime juice. Slowly beat in sugar one cup at a time.
- You may want to add an extra cup of sugar depending on decorating method
- and weather.
- Enjoy and remember you worked really hard...secret old family recipe...If
- you give out the secret it will not be as special.
