Spicy Stewed Tomatoes

Course: Condiments, Side Dish
Servings: 4
Author: Sherry Moman

Ingredients

  • 14 1/2 ounces stewed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, pour can of stewed tomatoes and add sugar, vinegar
  • and pepper. I like it spicy so I add a lot of pepper. Bring to a boil
  • and simmer uncovered about 15-20 minutes or until thickened.
  • Serve hot or cold with peas, butter beans, squash, corn, etc. This is
  • especially good with vegetables when tomatoes are not in season.
  • Refrigerate leftovers.
